Thanks to the continuous and
unlimited support by the march leader H.H Sheikh Zayed Bin
Sultan AL Nahyan- president of the U.A.E and the continuous
support by HH. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak- President of the
Women’s Union. after twenty five years of its foundation on
August 27, 1975 represented a great turning point in the life
of the U.A.E. women and has considerably contributed in the
improvement and development of women in various fields. It
also played a significant and substantial role in the
emancipation of illiteracy with the aim to enhance the
awareness of the importance of women education and the upgrade
of their cultural and professional level. That was the reason
why the Women’s Union deserved the “Civilized Illiteracy
Emancipation” award in 1999 from the Arab Organization for
Education. Cultural and Science. UNESCO being the award
allocated for non- governmental organizations. in appreciation
of the Union’s role in the adult education and emancipation of
illiteracy.
The tribute of H.H. Shiekha
Fatima Bint Mubarak, the pioneer of Women’s functions in the
U.A.E. President of the Women’s Union, by number of
International, Arab and Local concerns came as a clear
evidence for the importance of the role played by the Women’s Union its efficiency and support for women cause. Her
Highness played significant role in the social. charitable and
humanitarians fields, her strong support for women’s march in
the U.A.E and her great services to women made her the pioneer
of humanity, welfare and giving at the
international level and to be a role model.
Al Jawhara Gallery was
inaugurated in December 1999 it displays around 80 memorial
decorations. medals and shields offered by Local. Arab and
International institutions and concerns, The gallery is
automated with the state- of-art techniques allowing the
display of the award picture date and occasion and the concern
which offered it.
In appreciation of the role of
H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak the Women’s Union has
allocated a gallery for the shields, and medals obtained by
Her Highness since 1973 and has given this gallery the name
of “Al-Jawhara Gallery”.

The
International Awards:
With her enlightening
intellects and strong will H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak
has taken women and their issues across all boundaries through
to future horizons. Her Highness’s efforts were restricted to
the U.A.E Woman Society. But extended to include the world in
entirety so as to attain great human goals. Her Humanity
initiatives hate couples with her highness to origin the
values of loving, goodwill and faithfulness. H.H doesn’t aim
to get any return fur her generous giving except God content
and the achievement of settlement to every one.

In recognition by H.H. Sheikha
Fatima Bint Muharak in serving the woman issues; the
emancipation of illiteracy, care of childhood, disabled,
elderly and orphans, she deserved to receive this tribute and
honor from all the international organization and
institutions.

Health Organization (WHO) Shield in 1997 in appreciation for
Her Highness role in the improvement of the woman social and
health standard in the UAE and all Arab countries.
·
United
Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) Shield in 1997
in appreciation of Her Highness’s efforts for 25 years in the
improvement of woman and family standards in the field of
education and social services.
·
United
Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Shield in 1997 in
appreciation of Her Highness’s leading role in the field of
the development of Women & Children Welfare.
·
United
Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) Shield in 1997 in
appreciation of Her Highness’s efforts in the improvement of
woman standards at the local. Arab and international levels.
·
The
United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Shield in 1997 for
her distinguished efforts in all fields of development,
especially in relation with women.
·
It is
to be noted that the above six organization of the United
Nations, which are concerned with family, women, children
affairs and social development, in an unprecedented event have
simultaneously given tribute to Her Highness, in appreciation
of her great efforts in the field of family service, the
intellectual and cultural development of children not only in
the UAE but extended to cover the Arab and international
levels.

Marie
Curie Medal from the united National education, Culture and
Science (UNESCO) organization in appreciation of her great
efforts in the field of education and emancipation of
illiteracy and in encouraging women to get involved in various
national activities. She is the third international figure and
the first Arab figure to obtain this award. This award was
first granted in 1947 to Mr. Elianor Roosevelt, wife of
American ex- president. The second time was in 1947 to the
French President Francois Mitterrand. Since then it has been
withheld due to lack of the personality with the required
stipulates until it was granted to Her Highness in 1999.

The
United Nations Volunteers Programme (UNVP) shield, in 1997
appreciation of Her Highness’s leadership and continuous
support for the voluntary works.

When efforts collaborate,
achievements materialized on the logic earth, the progress of
H.H. Sheikha Fatima for the rising of woman has produced great
achievements, where any one has been sounded with its impact.
The woman issues have created a major and serious direction in
Her Highness work, the work for building and development. She
was not adequate with the local work but she created bridges
and corporation with women unions in all different Arab
countries. The humanitarian and social aspects at all level
took the most significant attention of H.H. Sheikha Fatima
Bint Mubarak. Her effort doesn’t dull and her willingness
doesn’t stop till she sees her effort’s production crowned
with success. This has prompted many countries and Arab
organizations to complete in honoring her distinguished role,
sincere efforts, generosity and unparalleled personality.

The honoring of H.H. Sheikha
Fatima on the Egyptian land where H.E. Hussni Mubarak granted
her the Excellent Medal of Perfection, that is mostly the
highest medal granted for kings’ and presidents’ spouses, on
May 18, 2003. the awards are:

“Silver Fish” medal in 1989 being the highest medal of lady
scouts in Egypt in
appreciation of her role in the scouts movement in the UAE and
the Arab countries.

League in 1999 in appreciation of Her Highness’s great efforts

Highness’s distinguished efforts in the field of Arab Family

Inlaid Medal of Renaissance” from late Hussein Bin Talal of
Jordan being the highest medal given to kings and Presidents
and their Spouses. Queen Noor Al Hussein has awarded the medal
to H.H Sheikha Fatima
Bint Mubarak on behalf of King Hussein in a ceremony held
during visit to Jordan in 1989.

National Higher Committee for Old Aged Shield in 1999, On the
occasion of old Aged International Year.

Committee for M.& P.O.W.S Affairs Shield.

Shield
and Certificate of Application from the Ministry of Labor and
Social Affairs in Kuwait. It was awarded to Her Highness’s in the closing
ceremony of the Gulf. Symposium held in 1999 about the old
aged. H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak was on the top of the
list of the honored personalities by the symposium, in
appreciation of her great role in the establishment of social
work as well as the establishment of many agencies and
institutions concerned with childhood and special categories
and her concern over the development of human race.

of 55 members of the diplomatic missions accredited in the UAE
have given tribute to H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak on

improvement, development and progress of the UAE women and her
